Mr. Eckhard Merz founded the family company initially as a design office named Kobü Merz in the year 1971. In the year 1979 this design office was renamed into the company Merz Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH, which Mr. Eckhard Merz and his wife Mrs. Maria Merz ran together successfully for more than 40 years. In 2002 Mr. Bernd Kirchhof was appointed as the third managing director and formed part of the management until 2016. The 2nd generation of the family company is represented by Mr. Holger Merz who manages the company with more than 80 highly qualified employees. Our service includes the development, design, manufacturing and sale of packaging machines and special machines / constructions for Stickpacks (small tubular bags) and 3-/4-side sealed bags. Our customers are placed in the tobacco / pharmaceutical / cosmetics / food and chemicals industry.
